The City Government is finalizing preparations for the 12th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) in Nanning, China September 15-22 where Zamboanga City will be featured as the country’s “City of Charm” exposing the city to more business and investment opportunities.

No less than Mayor Beng Climaco will lead the Philippine delegation during the event and together with the members of the City Council and the Zamboanga delegation will spearhead the promotion advocacies intended to sell Zamboanga during the series of events that will be attended by state leaders of ASEAN countries, ministers of economy and trade, ambassadors and consul-generals. A bulk of the Zamboanga delegation will be the members of the local business community who will be showcasing Zamboanga products and capabilities.

Officials from the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) headed by Doris Gacho and Anjo Ty met with the delegation Friday afternoon in City Hall to finalize the itinerary and other details to include schedules for business matching and travel requirements.

As head of the Philippine delegation, Mayor Climaco will lead the opening tour of the Philippine pavilion and will be the guest of honor during the dinner banquet for    VIPs at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center in Guangxi, China.

The China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) has gained positive feedback from both the political and business communities. It has emerged as an excellent platform for bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, investment and tourism.  Participation in this 12th CAEXPO would not only raise the profile of our local industries, but also expose Zamboanguenos to more business and investment opportunities in China and ASEAN.  A series of forums will be staged on specific sectors, for business leaders to illustrate their market analysis and highlight during the 12th China-ASEAN Business & Investment Summit (CABIS).
