Police records showed an alarming number of vehicular accidents in Zamboanga City.

In just eight days from August 24 to August 331, there were 34 accidents in different places.

Zamboanga City Police Office Police Blotters Records Officers of the PO1 Hernan Esteban and PO1 Timoteo Palong-Palong Jr. disclosed that the first motorvehicular accident happened on August 24 around 6:35 in the morning  along Nunez Extension. Second accident was along Sta. Cruz junction with Gov. Camins Road; third in San Jose Gusu around 7:55 a.m. followed by another one along RT Lim Boulevard at around 2:12 in the afternoon. Fifth accident happened in the same boulevard around 4:58 in the afternoon and sixth along P. Lorenzo Street around 5:50 p.m.

On August 25, first accident happened along RT Lim Boulevard around 9:25 in the morning, second was at around 9:36 a.m. in Baliwasan Chico. Third around 9:43 in the morning  along Gov. Camins Road, fourth  mishap  was along Gov. Alvarez Street at around 11:36 in the morning  and fifth  along Lorenzo Street around 4:30 P.M.

On August 26, first accident along Canelar around 1:33 in the morning, second incident along Gov. Camins Road at around 3:36 in the morning, third along Nuñez Extension in junction with Alvarez Street  around 7:48 in the morning, fourth along Jaldon Street in junction with Buenavista Street around 1:24 in the afternoon and  fifth incident along Baliwasan Chico road around 9:07 in the morning.

On August 27, first accident along Gov. Camins Road around 11:59 in the morning, second along RT Lim Boulevard around 2:31 in the afternoon and third around 2:38 in the morning along Nuñez Extension.

On August 28, first accident along Evangelista Street around 9:48 in the morning.followed by anothr along San Jose Gusu around 10:28 in the morning. Third incident happened along Buenavista Street junction with Jaldon Street around 11:10 in the morning. Fourth incident along Sta. Catalina around 1:15 in the afternoon. Fifth incident along Canelar Street around 2:07 in the afternoon. Sixth  incident along La Purisima Street junction with Gov. Lim Avenue around  3:49 in the afternoon and seventh incident along Gov. Camins Ave. around 4:03 p.m.

On August 29, accident along Alejo Alvarez Ave. t around 6:58 in the morning. Second incident along Veterans Ave. around 9:29 in the morning and third incident along Baliwasan Road around 3:33 p.m.

On August 30, first accident happened along Gov. Lim Avenue around 1:12 in the afternoon. Second along Thomas Claudio Street around 4:22 in the afternoon and third at Campo Islam around 4:22 p.m. . On August 31, only one accident happened along  San Jose Road Cawa-Cawa around 8:35 a.m.

Esteban said that police blotter records are always  occupied  with motorvehicular accidents. He suggested that drivers should drive carefully with diligence because  when they  drive carefully, they are preserving their lives and other people’s lives. — Allen Abastillas
