Mayor Beng Climaco on Sunday sought the support and cooperation of the members of the United Fish Vendors Multi-Purpose Cooperative in the maintenance of order and cleanliness at the main public.

Climaco graced the cooperative’s 8th Annual General Assembly program held August 30 at Market Building A Fish Section where she also underscored the need for the members to remain solid and united in their goals and objectives and consequently help the government build back a better Zamboanga.

“I would like to ask for your help. Let work together to make the market become cleaner and well-ordered,” the mayor said in the vernacular.

She stressed that cleanliness and order at the main public market can only be attained if all stakeholders—the stall owners and the market goers especially will cooperate and support in the cleanliness efforts.

The mayor said joining efforts for the betterment of the public market reflects on the members’ love and concern for the facility and Zamboanga in particular.

“Here in the public market is our means of livelihood and therefore let us do our share to maintain it. I love Zamboanga and we all love Zamboanga and so hopefully we will help each other to achieve our goals for our city,” Mayor Climaco added in her message in the vernacular.

The cooperative’s annual general assembly affords the members the opportunity to assess the group’s accomplishments versus its targets as well as to plan for the betterment of the group and the members.

Also present during the activity were Councilors Roel Natividad and Mel Sadain, the Fish Vendors Association president Hanapi, market officials and other personalities. — Sheila Covarrubias
