To effectively pursue her priority thrusts, Mayor Beng Climaco has appointed two new assistant city administrators who officially assumed their posts September 1.

Jose Genaro Yap-Aizon, Ph.D. has been named Assistant City Administrator for city affairs while Marie Angelique Go has been named Assistant City Administrator, both on concurrent capacities.

Mayor Climaco on Tuesday, Sept. 1 issued Executive Order BC-132-2015 designating Yap-Aizon as the concurrent Special Assistant to the City Mayor and Executive Order BC-133 designating Go as the concurrent Sales and Promotion Supervisor II of the Investment Promotions Division under the Office of the City Mayor.

Yap-Aizon, designated Supply Officer IV last December 9, 2014, has been performing his functions, duties and responsibilities as Special Assistant to the City Mayor.

Based on the mayor’s order, Yap-Aizon shall continue to perform his functions, duties and responsibilities  as special assistant to the mayor in addition to his current function as Assistant City Administrator for City Affairs.

On the other hand, Climaco said in the interest of service and in furtherance of the programs and activities adopted by the Investment Promotion Services geared towards promoting local products and encouraging investors to venture in the City, there is a need to designate Ms. Go, Assistant City Administrator for economic enterprises, as concurrent Sales and Promotion Supervisor II to avoid a vacuum in the administration of public service.

The Investment Promotion Services is tasked among others with the implementation of the investment incentive code and investment promotion activities of the city of Zamboanga.  — Sheila Covarrubias
