A retired Philippine Coast Guard officer was arrested for possession of a gun with expired license in Recodo early yesterday morning.

Ronald Flores Loste, 44, of Puppin drive, Recodo, was arrested by men of the Zamboanga City Public Safety under Supt. Ariel Huesca. Confiscated from his possession was a .45 caliber pistol with a magazine containing seven rounds of ammunition.

During interrogation, Loste presented an expired license for the pistol.

Police said Loste was driving a Honda XRM motorcycle when he came into a police checkpoint.

Loste was detained at the city police office while the gun was turned over to an investigator for the filing of charges in court.

In another development. Huesca’s men arrested Abu Muyni Adi and Nursharif Gale, both of Recodo, for possession of shabu.

The two were held inside an internet café in Recodo around 1:50 a.m. yesterday. Confiscated from their possession were five sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia and a Skygo motorcycle.

Around 2:35 a.m. Allan Jailani was arrested in Purok 1B of same barangay. He was held for possession of a stolen hen and alumnum foil. – Dan Toribio Jr.
