Some 50 New People’s Army rebels burned a Saddam truck and a Delica van at Sitio Mangway, Brgy. Pintatagan, Banay Banay, Davao Oriental at 7:00 p.m., September 12, 2015. There was no casualty on the said incident. Local PNP is currently conducting  investigation.

The Delica van was totally burned while the tires of the Saddam truck were damaged. Motive of the burning is still to be determined as no extortion demand was received by the owner.

The owner Ronaldo Mangosong was saddened by the incident. He said that the vehicles are being used to earn a daily living for his family.

Army public information officer Capt. Alberto Haber quoted civilian reports as saying that the perpetrators were led by one Bansai or Pakat of the Southern Mindanao Regional Committe of the CPP/NPA.

The Philippine Army’s 28th Infantry Battalion supports the local PNP in its law enforcement efforts.

Under the International Humanitarian Law, civilians and civilian properties should not be the object of attack.
