“Give a Book, Share a Toy Project” was launched recently at the Western Mindanao Command by Ticket1 as the company’s advocacy on literacy. With the belief in the importance of our children’s early language and literacy development. The project is in partnership with the Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom) led by Lieutenant General Rustico Guerrero.

Ticket1 donated racks of books and stuffed toys and distributed loot bags to the delight of the kids, who are enrolled at the Camp Navarro’s Early Childhood Care and Development Center, In Upper Calarian, this city.

The turn-over ceremony was led by Ticket1 managing director Jonathan Wee and Western Mindano Command commander Lieutenant General Rustico Guerrero. In attendance are WestMinCom chief of unified command staff Colonel Custodio Parcon Jr., officers and enlisted personnel and civilian employees of WestMinCom, daycare teachers, students and parents.

Lieutenant General Guerrero, in his speech, said that promoting childhood education and development by providing books and educational resources may help children reach their goals and have brighter futures.

For his part Ticket1’s Jonathan Wee said “On behalf of Ticket1 we are turning over this shelve of toys and books. With our simple gifts to WestMinCom’s Early Childhood Care and Development Center, we hope that this will appeal to the interest of the pre-school children to help develop early literacy skills.” We are here to support you in creating an environment that will help the preschool children learn best, introduce them to play and exposed them in learning activities where they will feel comfortable and confident in their growing years to help them set on to a better path, Wee said.
