Universidad de Zamboanga embarks on another learning investment for Zamboanga Peninsula as the UZ Laboratories (UZ Lab) opened Thursday along the premise of the UZ Main Campus in Don Toribio Street, Barangay Tetuan, Zamboanga City. UZ as a pioneer and constant innovator on quality education has financed the UZ Laboratories, a 5-storey building with more than 30 science, engineering and technical vocational laboratories that include the Archie Eustaquio Research Laboratory. These facilities highlight the competitive advantage of UZ for the 21st century learners.

Special guests and personalities from across public and private agencies in the region graced the opening of the different UZ Laboratories. Leaders of the education sector, Dr. Malcom Garma (DepEd Regional Director),DepEdZamboanga City Superintendent Pedro Melchor Natividad, Dr. Juanito Demetrio (CHED Regional Director), TESDA Director Lorenzo Macapili together with other heads of offices across the city were present to witness the different science and technical laboratory demonstrations by the faculty and students of UZ.

September 17, 2015 marked the 66th natal day of the late President Arturo “Archie” F. Eustaquio III and to commemorate his birth and his legacy as a pillar of education in Mindanao, UZ formally launched the UZ Laboratories through a Thanksgiving Mass and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony attended by the Chief Executive Officer and University President Atty. Linda Eustaquio-Lim, Chief Operating Officer Abram M. Eustaquio together with the members of the UZ Board of Directors and including the leaders of the  Executive, Academic and Administrative Departments of the institution.

The UZ Laboratories had a ground breaking ceremony in the same day of 2014. After a year of construction, UZ showcases another edifice as further reinforcement to the curricula and learning application of the university’s college and high school populace. UZ will open these modern and state of the art facilities to the public in support to the Senior High School Program of DepEd.
