Woman, 70, dies, girl injured in highway mishap PDF Print E-mail

A 70-year-old woman was killed, while a girl was injured after they were bumped by a Hyundai vehicle driven by a police official along Lobregat Highway in Divisoria Wednesday night.

Police identified the fatality as Juaning Quiatchon, while Injured was Rhizma Dayao Riquez, 12, both residents of Wee Sit Drive, Divisoria.

Initial investigation disclosed that Quiatchon and Riquez were crossing the highway near the Makers Convenience Store around 6:15 p.m. when a Hyundai vehicle driven by Sr. Insp. Ricardo Clarito Banes, Jr., 31, assigned in Camp Abendan, Mercedes, accidentally hit them.

The victims were rushed to a private hospital, but Quiatchon expired while undergoing treatment.

The girl sustained minor injuries in the body.

Men of the Divisoria police station were still investigating the case as both parties agreed to enter into an amicable settlement. – Dan Toribio Jr.
