The 2016 national and local elections is forthcoming and now, more than ever, the call for a peaceful, orderly, and honest elections is of topmost priority. Responding to this call, the United Front for Honest, Orderly and Peaceful Elections (UF HOPE) convenes once again in preparation for the 2016 National and Local Elections.

UF HOPE, a non-partisan multi-sectoral network, serves as a watchdog since the 2010 Elections. It is a group composed primarily of government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), academe, civil society organizations (CSOs), and security forces that is dedicated to ensure a peaceful and credible election in Zamboanga City and the region.

The press launch will happen on September 21, 2015, 1 ‘o clock in the afternoon at Carlos Dominguez Conference Hall, Ateneo de Zamboanga University.

The launching will highlight the reading and signing of the Pledge of Commitment of the UF HOPE partners to forge a strong desire in attaining honest, orderly and peaceful elections.

Aurora Gonzales, Director of Ateneo Center for Leadership and Governance, shares that UF HOPE 2016 will have three phases: Gabay Botante, Bantay Boto, and Gabay Pangako. In addition, there are ongoing discussions among partners about the need for UF HOPE to be active not only during election but even after elections.

During the press launch, partner organizations will be signing their Pledge of Commitment and will present the different activities for the upcoming election season.
