The city government yesterday released its cash assistance to 119 families whose houses were destroyed in the conflagration in Barangay Talon-Talon last month.

Acting Mayor Cesar Iturralde led the distribution of the cash aid in a simple ceremony at the covered court of Talon-Talon National High School.

Of the total number of beneficiaries, 86 families with totally damaged houses received P5,000 each while 32 families with partially damaged homes received P3,000 each.

Meanwhile, a house sharer/renter with partially damaged property received P2,000.

Iturralde was assisted by City Social Welfare and Development Special Operations Officer IV Evelyn las Marias.

It has been the policy of the city government to give out cash assistance to help victims of natural calamity and disaster back on their feet.— Claudine Uniana
