Servant leader Monsi Dela Cruz was proclaimed on Friday by the National People’s Coalition (NPC) in Manila as its congressional candidate in Zamboanga City’s District 1.

The Dela Cruz ws proclaimed with other congressional candidates from other cities like Cong. Bem Joel and Rolando Andaya.

The proclamation ws made in the presence of NPC top officials like Faustino S. Dy Jr., chairman, Giorgidi B. Aggabao, president and Mark Llandro Mendoza, secretary general.

Dela Cruz is the first candidate to announce that he is running for Congress. He declared his candidacy as s early as February this year.

The former priest turned businessman flew to Manila early this week to attend the proclamation of Senator Grace Poe as presidential candidate.

Dela Cruz ran for congress in District 1 in the 2010 election, but lost by slight margin to Congressman Celso Lobregat.

He is known as a builder and developer behind the successful construction of the Metro Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Centro Pastoral and the renovation and revival of Lantaka Hotel.
