Alavar’s feeding program goes to Mampang PDF Print E-mail

After successfully feeding 300 indigent children in Sta. Catalina, the Food Processor Association of Zamboanga and District 2 Councilor Miguel “Mike” Alavar III visited San Juanino Village in Mampang to shared some blessings to more than 200 kids last Saturday.

The Mampang  barangay council led by barangay chairman Pedro Estrada, Kagawad Valentino Luciano, Soledad Arquiza and Pilar Dagalea and community leader Cerilo Ramos, welcomed and thanked the group of Alavar for their sincere effort in helping the indigent children in the village.

During their visit in the barangay, Alavar and the FPAZ officers mingled with the young kids and fed them with nutritious food, juice and sweet goodies.
Alavar personally handed the foodstuff to the children and entertained them with lively conversation during the affair.
Alavar and his staff played Santa Claus to the children with the giving of the goodies and treated them as their friends.
Some of the children were accompanied by their mothers to receive their share.

The councilor said there will be more of the feeding program to be held in other barangays especially in places where there are indigent families.
After the feeding program, Alavar also visited two day-care centers to check what the pupils thereat need.

“I personally saw the present status of the two Day Care Centers and I found out that one of them needs a major repair. I told the teacher and care taker that I will bring the matter to the concerned agency for its repair,” Alavar said.

“It is very important to give priority to day care centers as they are the first schools where our children start to learn to count and spell,” he added. — Dan Toribio Jr.
