NPA rebels abduct unarmed soldier in Agusan del Sur PDF Print E-mail

Some 30 armed CPP/NPA members including five amazons under a certain Cai of the North Central Mindanao Regional Committee abducted an unarmed soldier of the 26th Infantry Battalion ( 26th IB ), 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Army who was riding a motorcycle along Kilometer16, Brgy. Policarpo, San Luis, Agusan del Sur at 9:00 a.m., September 19, 2015.

Troops of the 26th IB are currently on pursuit operations while the local PNP is conducting investigation as of press time.

Barangay kagawad Reneboy Galino, who was driving the motorcycle, reported that they were flagged down by the armed NPA guerillas and forcibly took the soldier.

The victim-soldier is part of the team of soldiers who are on peace outreach mission in Brgy. Mahagsay of the same town with mission to facilitate the entry of government services and protect the villagers from NPA’s deception and harassment activities.

The female CPP/NPA members are called amazons.
