Univet Nutrition and Animal Healthcare Company (UNAHCO), the agribusiness subsidiary of pharmaceutical leader Unilab, once again headlines the list of major sponsors for this year’s Agrilink, Foodlink, and Aqualink Exhibition set on October 15 to 17, 2015 at the World Trade Center.

UNAHCO President and Chief Operating Officer Ricardo C. Alba said UNAHCO believes in the mission of the Foundation for Resource Linkage and Development (FRLD), organizer of Agrilink, to bring together all stakeholders in the agriculture industry to facilitate transfer of knowledge and technology and establish linkages.

He said Agrilink is an excellent venue to learn about the latest trends and practices, innovative products and modern technologies in animal production and agriculture so animal raisers and farmers may improve their farm operations, productivity and profitability.

“We want to be a catalyst of knowledge and technology transfer to help uplift the animal and agriculture industries and at the same time promote food safety and security for our country,” Mr. Alba said.

“Specifically, UNAHCO is helping Agrilink promote the event to entice more people to attend the exhibition and become aware that there is a huge potential, an excellent business opportunity, in agribusiness,” he added.

For the past 17 years, UNAHCO has been sponsoring Agrilink, the country’s biggest agribusiness exhibition, through its business units such as Univet, Pigrolac Premium Hog Feeds, Sarimanok Poultry Feeds, UNAHCO Commercial Farm Group (CFG), and UNAGRO (Univet Agronomy).

This year, Yum Yum, UNAHCO’s newly launched dog food brand in the market, will also be part of the exhibition. Yum Yum will have a DogCafé in the afternoon of Saturday, October 17,at the World Trade Center lobby where dog lovers will get the chance to meet and interact with different dog breeds.

Another reason for UNAHCO’s bullish participation in industry events like Agrilink is the company’s 50th year founding anniversary in 2016.

“We have been servingthe Filipino animal raisers for almost 50 years now and weare truly grateful to our loyal customers and partners for their continuing trust, patronage andsupport,” Mr. Alba said. “One way of thanking them is through our promotion of livelihood opportunities in agribusiness, and Agrilink is a perfect venue for this.”

“It is UNAHCO’s vision to become the leading agribusiness conglomerate not only in the Philippines but in the whole of Asia. That is why we are aggressively exploring other agriculture-related businesses to complete our seed tofeed, feed to food value chain,” he added.

Currently, UNAHCO has 12 business units that offer a wide range of products and services. These are Univet, Thunderbird Feeds, Pigrolac Feeds, Sarimanok Poultry Feeds, CFG or Commercial Farm Group, Doggiessentials (Nutrience, Yum Yum, Bubblebath), Food Solutions, Goat Dairy Farm, UAD (United Agrivet Distribution), UNAGRO, UNAHCO International (export business), and Aquapro (aqua feeds).

This year’s Agrilink is scheduled from October 15 to 17, 2015 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. It will be held alongside the 16th International Food Processing, Packaging and Products Exhibition or Foodlink, and the 11th National Fisheries Exhibitions and Seminars of Aqualink.

Agrilink 2015 has for its theme “Regional Agribusiness Development as a Strategy for Inclusive Growth.”

FRLD PresidentAntonio V. Roces saidAgrilink 2015 will specifically highlight corn production in Region-2 or Cagayan Valley which includes the province of Isabela, currently the Philippines’s top corn producer and also the second biggest rice producer. — Nonoy E Lacson
