Men of the Sangali Police Station led Insp. Federico Boy Lindo, Jr., backed up by army soldiers, seized a truck loaded with alleged illegally-cut lumber at a police checkpoint in Sitio Malasugat, Sangali the other night.

Police said the truck was driven by Johnny Dagalea, 36, married, of Sitio Matawis, Tagasilay.

Initial investigation showed that Dagalea failed to present papers legalizing the transportation of the said lumber.

Police said the truck was carrying 136 mahogany lumber flitches measuring 2x6x8.

After investigation, police turned over the truck and the lumber to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in Pasonanca for disposition. – Dan Toribio Jr.
