Congressman Celso L. Lobregat sought the help of the city’s barangay leaders to reach out to thousands of registered voters who have incomplete or without data with the Commission on Elections and may not be able to cast their vote in next year’s national and local elections.

Lobregat provided each barangay thru their respective barangay officials with the COMELEC data indicating the list of those with incomplete or without biometrics in their particular barangay.

In the entire City covering the two congressional districts,   that there are 112,440 registered voters with incomplete or without biometrics or roughly 27 % of the city’s total number of voters of 412,530.

He said that 63,187 of the 112,440 registered voters with incomplete or without biometrics are from the first district while 49,253 are from the second district based on the COMELEC data as of Sept. 5, 2015.

Lobregat said  those with incomplete or without data with the COMELEC, such as no photo, or no signature or no thumbmark, will not be able to vote in the 2016 national and local elections following COMELEC’s requirement of “no biometrics, no vote”

Lobregat advised barangay officials to find ways and means how to get to those voters concerned in their respective barangays so they can visit the COMELEC office of their district as soon as possible and validate their registration.

After today, Sept. 22, there will only be 23 remaining days before the Oct. 31 deadline for validation with the COMELEC by those with incomplete or without biometrics. — Jubels Santos
