Mayor Beng Climaco has issued another executive order in connection with the grand Zamboanga Hermosa Festival starting today, this time prohibiting anybody from bringing backpacks, wearing bull caps and hooded jackets in certain areas where festivities will be conducted.

Climaco said the month-long festivity is expected to draw huge crowd people to include foreign and domestic visitors.

Thus, she said there is a need to implement certain protective and security measures to ensure the safety and security of the people attending the various activities lined up for the festival.

In her Executive Order BC141-2015, Climaco ordered no parking of motorcycles, no bringing of backpacks, no wearing of bull caps and hooded jackets in areas downtown.

These include the whole stretch of Mayor Climaco Avenue, Mayor Ledesma St., JS Alano St., Lorenzo St., Valderrosa St. to Fort Pilar Shrine, and surrounding areas.

The City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office and the City Administrator’s Office were tasked to oversee the implementation of the mayor’s issuances relative to the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival in coordination with the city police and other law enforcement units.— Vic Larato
