The  Fish Port in Pagadian City is earning an income from P800,000 to P 1.8 million monthly.

Pagadian City Mayor RomeoTata Pulmones disclosed that the amount is a regular monthly income and it is a big contribution to city’s annual income.

“Usa ra diri sa Pagadian City ang fish port sa mga isda sa tab- ang tubig  og  isda  sa dagat. We will not allow fishermen drop their fish in any coastal area in the city. We will arrest them for illegal docking and hauling of fish . We will imposedfines and penalties,”Pulmones emphasized.

In another development, Pulmones in his meeting with retired Police  Chief Supt. Ramon M. Ochotorena and Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office Director Sr. Supt. Sofronio Ecaldre,  said the coastal area of the municipality of Tabina is now a discovered diving  site and eco- tourism area.

He reveald that there are many divers from abroad and from other cities coming to  the city to conduct  diving in Tabina.

When you are there (Tabina),you can  see many big live taclobo shells and lobsters while swimming and  snorkeling and it is a tourists attraction, Pulmones said.

The mayor said that they take good care of their visitors and  arrange for their police security.

He added that eco- tourism activities area dditional income for the city and many people will be benefited from it in their socio- economic livelihood. — Allen Abastillas
