The Zamboanga Hermosa Festival enters 5th day today, October 5 with activities showcasing the city’s rich and colorful history and culture.

The 3-day Zamboanga Art Exhibit back to back with the Segundo Conferencia de Cultura, Artes y Historia will reel off at the Centro Latino in Paseo del Mar starting today, Oct. 5-7 from 8am to 5pm.

Organized by the Council of Culture, Arts and History, the twin events hope to foster understanding of the policy choices and challenges the arts and culture face in the city. It will bring together academicians, leaders from the arts community and representatives of public and social organizations interested in issues related to arts and cultural policy development.

The twin events will be capped with a cultural presentation through the “Un Noche de Canciones” at 7 tonight featuring various choir groups in Zamboanga – the Western Mindanao State University Choral Group, the Zamboanga City State Polytechnic College Choral Group and the Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology Choral group with a presentation from the Zamboanga City Hall choir.

Tomorrow, Oct. 6, the twin events will be capped with “Un Noche de Bailes” featuring various dance groups in the city.

Meanwhile, other Fiesta highlights that kicked off October 1 continues to draw people such as the 11th Cosechas de Zamboanga, an agri-trade fair at the Plaza Pershing which runs until Oct. 15; the Grand Midnight Sale starting at 7pm at the Climaco Avenue from Oct. 1-9 and the Smoke Out: Cocina de Zamboanga featuring various Zamboanga grilled foods starting at 6pm at the R.T. Lim Boulevard from Oct. 2-10.

For Tuesday, Oct. 6, the Fiesta Highlights aside from Una Noche de Bailes will be the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival Queen 2015 at the WMSU gymnasium at 7pm and on Wednesday, Oct. 7 will be the Original Chavacano Video Music Festival showcasing local talents and their original chavacano songs.
