Seaweed farmer arrested in raid PDF Print E-mail

A seaweeds farmer and a minor were arrested during a raid in Taluksangay last Saturday morning.

Lawmen from different units served search warrants around 5 a.m. on five target houses at Purok 4, Tong Mateo, Taluksangay for violation of RA 10591 otherwise known as the  Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.

During the raid, lawmen arrested Dawan Andas y Arabin, 31, married. Confiscated from his possession were a .45 caliber pistol with an empty magazine and a 22-inch long blade weapon.

The four other houses yielded no illegal objects, police said.

A 15-year-old boy who was caught together with Andas was turned over to his parents.

Andas was detained at the Culianan Police Station while the seized gun was forwarded to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for ballistic examination.

Those who joined the operation were men from Zamboanga City Publix Safety Company, Police Station 4, City Police Office’s CIDMB/SIU, Intelligence Section, SWAT, CAIDSOTF, EOD, Anti-Vice Section, RPSB9 and Joint Task Group Zamboanga led by Supt.
