New classroom buildings are being constructed simultaneously in eight (8) public schools in the city’s west coast barangays, according to the Department of Public Works & Highways Zamboanga City District Engineer’s Office in a report to the Office of 1st District Congressman Celso L. Lobregat.

Congressman Lobregat visited the construction sites recently, accompanied by engineers from the DPWH, the implementing agency, and the DepEd’s City Schools Division.

0f the 8 structures under construction, 3 are in national high schools, 2 in central schools and 3 in elementary schools, according to Engr. Anna-Lyne Gregorio.

These are a 2-storey 6 classroom building at Sinunuc Elementary School, a 3-storey 15 classroom building at Ayala Central School,  two units of 3-storey 15 classroom building at Sta. Barbara Elementary School, a 3-storey 15 classroom building at Sta. Maria Central School, and a 2-storey  4 classroom building at Luyahan Elementary School, all funded under Batch  3 (BEFF) 2014.

Another three high school classroom buildings also being constructed include a 2-storey 4 classroom building at Recodo National High School funded under Batch 1 (SHS) 2015,  a 1 –storey  1 classroom building at Sinubong Nat’l High School under Batch 48 (BEFF) 2014, and a 2-storey 6 classroom building at Regional Science High School, under Batch 1 (SHS) 2015.

Congressman Lobregat visited the construction sites together with a team from the DPWH headed by Engr. Roberto Dondi Sta. Elena and the DepEd City Schools Division led by OIC, Schools Division Supt.  Pedro Melchor Natividad.
