Quake rocks Central Mindanao PDF Print E-mail

A magnitude 5.3 quake hit mainland Mindanao at dawn on Saturday but no casualties or damages to properties were  reported, the state volcanology office said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported that the earthquake was tectonic in origin and recorded at about 1:30 a.m.

Its epicenter was traced some 108 km southwest of Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.

On the other hand, the US Geological Survey reported that the quake was traced to the Moro Gulf and about 102 kms. southwest of Cotabato City.
There were no report of aftershocks hours after the tremor.
