After the action-packed Zamboanga Hermosa Festival 2015, the City Government together with police and military authorities are setting preparations for the observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days or “Undas” in the city.

The City Administrator’s Office has set a meeting of all agencies and sectors concerned at 9:30am Monday at the City Hall conference room to take up matters in preparation for the Undas on November 1 and 2.

As in the past, the police and military are set to implement a comprehensive security plan for implementation in all major cemeteries and areas of convergence to ensure a peaceful and solemn observance of the Undas.

Mayor Beng Clilmaco is likewise expected to issue executive orders setting rules regulations in public and private cemeteries where people will flock to visit their departed loved ones. These include the directives for the implementation of a temporary traffic rerouting scheme and other rules regulations to include prohibition in bringing of firearms and bladed weapons and other similar items inside cemetery premises as well as prohibition in the playing of loud music and gambling inside cemeteries.

Expected to attend the meeting are police and military authorities, barangay officials, religious leaders, civic groups and volunteer brigades. —Sheila Covarrubias
