Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Airport Manager Mohammad Naga Rascal disclosed yesterday that he started implementing strict security measures at the Zamboanga Airport for the safety of plane passengers.

Rascal said that since he assumed office he immediately addressed all the matters concerning the security of air commuters as well properties of the government and airlines.

He added that he is in close coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the PNP to monitor the entry of prohibited drugs.

But Rascal since he assumed office at the airport, there has been no entry of shabu coming from other places like Manila which happened twice before he came in.

He added that airport authorities are very strict, particularly in the inspection of all luggages and cargoes before they are brought to the terminal and later aboard commercial aircraft.
