The city government has released a total of P221,000 in cash assistance to help with the medical expenses of victims of separate incidents of conflagration and vehicular accident, including the casualties of the September 18 blast.

Mayor Beng Climaco led the distribution of monetary aid to 61 beneficiaries in an informal ceremony held at City Hall yesterday afternoon.

Nineteen beneficiaries who sustained injuries that required admission to a medical facility for treatment received P5,000 while forty-two others who needed out-patient services collected P3,000.

Ten of the 33 victims of the September 18 blast at a bus terminal had to be admitted for their injuries.

A resident of Barangay Pamucutan was admitted for injuries sustained when fire broke out on August 14.

Four victims from Barangay Lanzones also necessitated in-patient treatment after figuring in the August 24 vehicular accident.

Twenty-three individuals also figured in another vehicular accident in Sibulao on August 23 where four were seriously hurt. — Claudine Uniana
