The city government through the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) swiftly responded to the conflagration that hit kilometer 4, Talon-talon shortly after 1am Sunday, October 25.

Mayor Beng Climaco, who led in the distribution of food packs and other relief goods to the affected families temporarily housed at the barangay hall area, ordered the immediate assessment/validation of the affected residents for the grant of assistance the soonest possible time. She likewise ordered the conduct of health check-ups on the fire victims particularly the children, women and senior citizens.

Part of the donations were supplies turned over to the local government by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce.

Per report from the City Fire Marshall FSupt. Dominador Zabala Jr., the fire incident involved 20 residential houses made of light materials. The fire originated from the residence of Eric Bulagao due to electrical short circuit.
