Police seize 13 unregistered boat engines PDF Print E-mail

Policemen of the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company led by Supt. Ariel Huesca and personnel of the Regional Maritime Unit confiscated 13 unregistered pumpboat engines in the city’s west yesterday.

A police report disclosed that lawmen were on shoreline sea patrol from Paniran going to the west when they intercepted pumpboats operating in the areas of responsibility of Zamboanga City.

Inspections were conducted on the documents of the boat operators but 13 of them failed could not produce any.

Huesca’s men confiscated their engines pursuant to rules and regulations of the Department of Agriculture rules wherein all seacraft must be registered in their office.

The policemen turned over the seized engines to the DA for proper disposition.

Owners of the engines were advised to register the engines for them to claim them back and continue their livelihood in the sea.     — Dan Toribio Jr.
