Robinsons Supermarket, subsidiary of Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc., the second largest multi-channel retailer in the Philippines is currently looking into Zamboanga City as a viable expansion site.

Currently operating 6 business segments, 10 formats, 20 retail brands and 1,145 stores, Zamboanga City may well be Robinsons’ next destination.

After a courtesy call to Mayor Beng Climaco, Robinsons officials went to the City Assessor’s Office last week to find useful information concerning real properties and market valuation.

Robinsons’ Business Development Adviser Ronnie Ong is committed to bring together healthy selections and affordable prices in a refreshingly clean and organized shopping destination. Supermarket Manager Ruth Fucoy explained how Robinsons guide its customers to food and grocery choices by using the 4-color tag system, with the green shelf tagged products having been evaluated and certified as healthy and nutritious by the Food Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI).

The officers moved around to look into conditions and programs of the local government unit to spur sustainable economic and inclusive growth.

Zamboanga City’s local economic development was evaluated in terms of policies in engaging local trade, putting up investments and creating jobs.  Over time, barangays along the East to West Coasts have evolved into vibrant commercial and residential areas. Rising population and economic growth in the last years was accompanied by changes in the City’s land use.

With Zamboanga’s economic and business potentials, more players are attracted to such favourable climate, benefiting in the process its constituents. (Investment Promotions PR)
