Seventy one Pantawid Pasada cards have already been released by the Land Transportation Office 9 Zamboanga City District Office under Head Officer Noel Noche  to beneficiaries since its launching last week.

LTO-9 Director Aminola P. Abaton disclosed that his office will distribute 1,809 Pantawid Pasada cards to beneficiaries. Each card is worth P 1,050. It is intended as fuel subsidy for public utility jeepney owners and operators who are members of transport association.

According to Abaton, the Land Transportation Office-9 and the Land Transportation Franchising Regulation Board are tasked to accept the valid document of the motorvehicle registration and send it to the Department of Energy in Davao City. which will process the  paper and make the accreditation for the beneficiaries. After the accreditation by the DOE, the PPC cards are sent back to LTO and LTFRB for their distribution to the bonafide beneficiaries.

Abaton said it is also the DOE that will decide which gasoline stations are accredited for the fuel subsidy.
He added that the distribution  of the 1,809 cards is only for the first batch. There will be a second batch later.
Meanwhile, Abaton will launch the distribution of PPC cards in Dipolog City within this week. — Allen Abastillas
