The city government has released a total of P123,000 in financial assistance to victims who either lost their houses or sustained injuries during separate incidents of flooding, conflagration and vehicular accident last September.

Mayor Beng Climaco personally handed the cash aid intended to help affected families in a simple ceremony held at City Hall.

Sixteen family beneficiaries lost their home to fire or flashflood. Of this number, eight families received P5,000 each for their totally damaged house while the other eight collected P3,000 for their partially damaged property.

Cash aid was also extended to seventeen victims who sustained injuries resulting from the aforementioned calamities.

Four of the victims whose injuries required admission to a medical facility for treatment received P5,000. Meanwhile, those who incurred minor wounds collected P3,000.

Affected barangays included Putik, Mampang, San Roque, Pasonanca, Calarian, Malagutay, Cabatangan, Sinunuc, Ayala, Talisayan and San Jose Gusu.
