Beng urges Zamcelco to explore more options PDF Print E-mail

Mayor Beng Climaco pressed the management of the Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative, Inc., (Zamcelco) to explore affordable and more constant options to augment and address the power needs of the City.

Climaco on Monday said that even with the arrival and installation of the modular gensets in the City, it is still imperative for Zamcelco to explore other opportunities and potential agreements with energy companies.

“Mucho ta ofrece na Zamcelco maga diferente companiya privado que affordable. Ta apela kita con el board si pwede sila estudya ste. No mas sila sera el pwerta,” the chief executive said during her press briefing November 9.

She said Zamcelco should open opportunities for other favorable contracts that are affordable, cheaper, and constant.

“Let us not tie our hands con estos klase maga companiya que ta mira kita hinde paborable na maga vivientes,” said Climaco, adding that it will be the resident-consumers who will be at the mercy of the contracts entered into by Zamcelco.

Meanwhile, the Mayor wants the procured gensets to be used properly to address the power needs of the City.

“Ojala, puede sila usa, pero queda se caro because when you use modular gensets, el uso de este que se llama crudo para punsiuna. It should serve only as a genset,” she said. — Jasmine Mohammadsali
