As part of the City Government’s support to security, Mayor Beng Climaco on Monday rewarded Vitali policemen and Tumitus barangay officials for their efforts in the recovery of 2 kidnap victims over a month ago.

Mayor Climaco presented the rewards Monday morning in City Hall to Vitali Police Station Chief PCI Salvador Galvez and the officials of barangay Tumitus who collaborated efforts for the recovery of Isabel Muyargas and her grandson Kyle in the island of Tumitus last September 7.

The reward system is part of the city’s support to security intended to encourage others to do their share for the sake of public order and security in the city. Their contributions may be through various means that include information-sharing that could lead to the resolution or prevention of a crime incident or evil plans of lawless elements.

“Today, we gave rewards to the police and the barangay officials for their efforts. We thank our force multipliers in the 98 barangays utilize whatever intel capacity they have through their trainings,” the mayor said.

Muyargas, wife of a retired education superintendent, and her 5-year old grandson were snatched from their home in Bangkerohan Village, Ipil, Zamboanga del Sur Sept. 6. They were recovered in the island barangay of Tumitus, some 70 kilometers from where they were abducted.
