The Alliance of Christian Development Agencies (ACDA), Interreligious Solidarity Movement for Peace in Zamboanga (IRSMP), and the Peace and Reconciliation Commission (PARCOM) of the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC) will convening a Twin Interfaith Dialogue on Climate Change Adaptation and on the Peace Process on July 11-12, 2011 at the Euntes Center, Sinunuc this city.

The Interfaith Consultation (IFC) on Climate Change hopes to raise awareness on the urgency of the issue on Climate Change among the tri-people of Mindanao; generate ideas on actions that can be taken to adapt and mitigate the situation; and craft workshop designs to popularize the issue among churches, schools and grassroots communities.

Meanwhile, the Consultation-Dialogue on the Peace Process hopes to provide a venue to get an update on the status of the GPH-MILF Peace Talks, facilitate dialogue and clarify issues between the tri-people of Mindanao and the Peace Panel(s); and generate ideas on actions that can be taken to support the Mindanao peace process.

Members of the Interreligious Solidarity Movement for Peace will be attending the said consultation dialogues with a bigger emphasis on the movement’s line of action on advocacy and the peace process.
As a response to the various consultation dialogues which has been an effective tool to achieve lasting peace in Mindanao, the organizers seek better proactive solutions that would be helpful to the ongoing peace processes in the country.

What is more interesting is the integration of the climate change into the peace process and its dynamics. Thus, relevant institutions were contacted to be part of this historic and meaningful consultation dialogue.
