Governor Uy leads outreach mission in Zambo Norte PDF Print E-mail

Zamboanga del Norte Governor Roberto U. Uy Sr. led a medical-dental outreach program and distribution of fruit seedlings  in Mutya municipality  last Friday.

Gov. Uy said three barangays benefited from the outreach mission. They are New Siquijor, Totongon, Tumbuk and El Paraiso.

Uy’s partners in the outreach proram  were the medical and dental team of the Provincial Medical Hospital, 101st Brigade of the Philippine Army, Zamboanga del Norte Public Safety Battalion, Prpvincial Engineers  and Philippine Red Cross.

“ Nanghatag pud  ko og mga seedlings sa agriculture og  cacao seedlings og mga sanina sa mga less fortunate people. Uban pud nako mga Engineers para mo check sa dalan para i-concrete kay duna usa ka commander sa New People’s Army gusto mo-surender pag sementado na ang dalan. Kay NPA infested area man gud ang lugar”, Uy said in Visayan dialect.

In another  development, Gov. Uy conferred with  the provincial scholars on Saturday. “ We have 3,000 scholars from 2015 to 2016 with an additional of 500,”  Uy said.

The governor added that  most of the students are enrolled at the  Western Mindanao State University, and State colleges extension of Western Mindanao State Colleges, some are in Jose Rizal University in Dipolog City, Saint Vincent College and Silliman University in Dumaguete City.

Under his leadership, Uy also give scholars choice on what course to pursue and what  university or college to study.

“Mag- ampo mo og magpasalamat sa Ginoo sa mga grasya. Mag eskwela mo  og maayo para maayo ang inyong kaugmaon,” Uy said. — Allen Abastillas
