Ten motorcycles were impounded by the Highway Patrol Group-9’s Special Operations Team for varied violations of the traffic law during the weekend in the municipality of Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The round-up was made during random  anti-carnapping operations.

HPG9-SOT Leader SPO2 Joel Claret disclosed that most of the violators were driving without license and were not bringing their Land Transportation Office- 9  unit registration.

The 10 motorcycles were turned over to the HPG Buug Team based in the area.

Claret and SPO1 Bobby Solis said that they were directed by Regional Chief Sr. Supt. Joel R. Dimaano to conduct anti-carnapping operations and monitoring of motorvehicles going in and out of Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga del Norte during the weekend.

Claret revealed that there is no heavy influx of motorvehicles in the two provinces because there are no special activities conducted by the different local government units in the area. — Allen Abastillas
