Mayor Beng Climaco has ordered the General Services Office (GSO) to engage in dialogue with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to iron out the concerns with regards to the road expansion and other infrastructure projects in national highways.

This, as questions on who has the responsibility of setting up the streetlight lines initially destroyed to facilitate the road expansion projects in the east and west coasts of the city  has arisen between the GSO and the DPWH.

Similar situation is expected to arise as the road expansion component of the Zamboanga City Roadmap to Recovery and Reconstruction (Z3R) plan.

“We will ask the GSO to dialogue with the DPWH because even in the Z3R program, esperahan se sila, ken bunka con el maga poste antes sila entra, y ken tamen entra para compone,” said Climaco Monday as she promised to look into possible solutions for the aforementioned issue at the soonest possible time.

“We will look into it para pwede se compone immediately, so that the proper funding and responsibility for it to be corrected will be done as soon as possible,” she told local media. — Jasmine Mohammadsali
