In celebration of the Yuletide season, the city government of Zamboanga city calling for entries to the Open Christmas Lantern Competition on Dec. 14 at R.T. Lim Boulevard.

The competition is one of the activities lined up for the “Pascua na Zamboanga 2015.”

Entry forms can be obtained from the Communications and Information Office at City Hall or download them from the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival Facebook page, and must be submitted on or before 5 p.m. on Dec. 11 to the Public Information Division, 2nd floor, City Hall Annex.

The Lantern designs must be circular or star-shaped with at least 6 ft. high and 6 ft. wide as measured from both extremities and should adapt to the “Candyland” theme of Pascua na Zamboanga 2015.

The lanterns should also include lighting systems. Judging of all lanterns will be done on Dec 14 at 6 p.m. at R.T. Lim Blvd.

The criteria for judging will include artistry 30%, craftsmanship 30%, luminance (use of light) 30% and relevance to the theme (candyland) 10%.

First place winner will receive P10,000 while the second placer will get P7,000 and the third placer will bring home P5,000. The fourth and fifth placers will receive P3,000 and P2,000 respectively. All the winners will also receive plaques each. — VTL
