Triker loses P2,850 in Tumaga holdup PDF Print E-mail

A tricycle driver was held up by three men in Barangay Tumaga at dawn yesterday.

Police identified the victim as Melvin Alvarez y Gaspar, 38, married, of Salaan.

Initial investigation disclosed that Alvarez was driving his tricycle near LB Supermarket where three men boarded and told him to bring them to Comet Street, Tumaga.

Police said that when they arrived at Comet Street around 2:25 a.m., the three passengers announced a heist at knife point.

The holduppers took the driver’s money amounting to P2, 850, according to the police.

The victim told the police that after the incident the holduppers ran towards the dimly lit part of Comet St. bringing the money.

Alvarez then rushed to the Sta. Maria Police Station to report the holdup. – Dan Toribio
