District 1 Congressman Celso L. Lobregat congratulates Koronadal Commercial Corporation (KCC) Mall de Zamboanga, on its formal opening on Friday, Dec. 4, 2015.

It will be recalled that the construction of KCC Mall de Zamboanga started during the administration of then Mayor Celso Lobregat. In fact, Lobregat participated in the simple ground-breaking for the KCC Mall de Zamboanga on Oct. 10, 2012 on a 3.5-hectare lot between the Jollibee Camins and EMCOR along Gov. Camins Avenue.

Also present at the 2012 ground-breaking ceremony were Investor Chan Sui Lam, PNB Vice President for Mindanao Tessie Sebastian, Councilors Nonong Guingona(+), Eddie Saavedra, former City Social Welfare Development (CSWD) Officer Kit Barredo and BG Guingona

Construction of the KCC Mall  de Zamboanga started soon after the ground-breaking and was to have been completed within 18 months. However, the construction and completion of the Mall was delayed due to the September 2013 Zamboanga Siege.

Upon its completion, KCC Mall de Zamboanga will be the third KCC Mall in the Philippines. It is touted to be the biggest mall in Zamboanga City and the entire Zamboanga Peninsula.

KCC Mall de Zamboanga is a multi-level structure adopting the cascading or terraces design of the floors considering its proximity to the airport. It has 5 floors with two basement levels and a total retail floor area of 120,000 square meters.

Congressman Lobregat described KCC Owner Mr. Chan Sui Lam as a very simple and humble person with a great vision and grandiose plans. — Jubels Santos
