Several of the City’s health programs were duly recognized for its outstanding performance in the Department of Health Gala Awards Night last November, reported City Health Officer Dr. Rodelin Agbulos.

Among those recognized for its exemplary and outstanding implementation were the City’s TB Program as best performing DOTS facility and best smearing station, the Animal Bite Treatment Center, the STI/HIV and AIDS program, and the Filariasis MDA Implementation.

The City was also given the outstanding Infectious Diseases Cluster Award, said Agbulos.

Aside from the DOH Gala Awards, the City Government earlier was feted the Green Banner award for the outstanding implementation of its Nutrition Program.

“Zamboanga City is very lucky to get the Green Banner Award as the most outstanding City for nutrition program in region 9,” Agbulos said.

“We were also able to get the most outstanding barangay nutrition scholar from Pasobolong for region 9. These will be forwarded for evaluation for the national award,” he added.
