Police seized guns and shabu from several houses during a raid Sunday in Barangay Recodo, the city’s most notorious place for drugs.

City Police Office spokesperson Chief Insp. Joel Tuttuh disclosed that operatives of various police units raided the the different houses  on the strength of search warrants issued by Judge Eric Elumba registered under SW number 13-2015 to 19-2015. for violation of Republic Act 9165.

The raiding team served first a search warrant to the residences of Hji. Farida Yasin Haber Sappayani, Omar Handi, Hamja Sulaiman and Aida Sulaiman, where the lawmen found not contraband items.

The team proceeded to the house of Alcap Jikiril but he eluded arrest. Recovered from his house werer 10 small sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia, four bullets of 9mm pistol and one bullet of caliber 50 rifle.

The lawmen served another search warrant to Ken Ijin and Sorina Ijin where they recovered an M4 rifle, caliber 40 pistol, 28 rounds of ammunition of 5.56 mm, five long magazines, 24 rounds of ammunition of caliber 40, three magazines of Caliber 40 and a green bandolier.

Another search warrant then was served at the house of Moh. Sali Abdurahim where the raiders recovered a .22 magnum revolver.

Police said the confiscated items were turned over to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for examinations while occupants of the houses where contraband items were recovered have been placed under investigation

The raiding team was composed of operatives of the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company, Special Investigation Unit, Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB 9), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Ayala Police Station and Sinunuc Police Station led by Sup. Ariel Huesca and Supt. Felix Martinez, under the supervision of City Police Director Sr. Supt. Angelito Casimiro. — Dan Toribio Jr.
