5 arrested in fresh raid in drug infested Recodo PDF Print E-mail

Five persons including a soldier of the Philippine Marines were arrested in a police operation against illegal drugs and gambling that went on from midnight Thursday till dawn Friday in drug infested Barangay Recodo.

Men of the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company led by Supt. Ariel Huesca swooped down on three puroks in Recodo around 11 p.m. as part of a “prophylactic” patrol.

On the first operation at Purok 1, the team disrupted two shabu sessions where drug users scampered in different directions. Huesca’s team recovered assorted drug paraphernalia thereat.

Then the team proceeded to Purok 1Ba nd arrested Junie Ornopia Gojo, 42, married an employee of the Mega fishing Corporation. Police confiscated from his possession two illegal gambling machines.

The lawmen then proceeded to Dacon Access Road where they arrested Marine Sgt. Alnadzry Ibnohasim Dacumos, 36, married, of Purok 6. Confiscated from his possession were two sachets of shabu. Also arrested was Muhmir Handani Mangkabung, 32, married, of Purok 4A. Police recovered from his possession a sachet of shabu, drug paraphernalia and three empty plastic sachets.

Around 1 a.m. the team turned to Purok 3  and arrested of Han Julkanain Albani, a team leader of the Special Civilian armed Auxiliary assigned at Dacon Outpost and Halid Jakaria Mohammad, 36, a farmer of Purok 3-A. Policemen recovered from their possession two medium size sachets, one small size sachet of shabu, 57 empty sachets and cash P255.

Meanwhile, around 9 p.m. Thursday, men of the Sinunuc Police Station led by Chief Insp. Hingming Ladjaali arrested three men during a buy-bust operation in Purok 3, Sinunuc.

Arrested were Hussin Ibong y Antella, 32, a pedicab driver. He was the target of the buy-bust operation while two others identified as Ansal Ainal, 24 and Arsibal Abubakar, 19, were caught engaging in a shabu session.

Police recovered marked money, four sachets of shabu and several drug paraphernalia from their possession.

All the arrested persons were detained while the police have readied charges against them. –Dan Toribio
