District 1 Congressman Celso L. Lobregat has been monitoring the power situation for the second day of no brownout in Zamboanga City

From data supplied by Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative (ZAMCELCO), the average hourly demand for Monday, December 14 is 89 Megawatts(MW).

On the other hand, the average supply allocation per hour nominated by ZAMCELCO was as follows: PSALM - 24 MW, TMI -17 MW, MAPALAD - 0 MW and WMPC - 50 MW totaling 91 MW.

ZAMCELCO has not nominated any power supply from MAPALAD as it is taking advantage of a lower power rate from WMPC as compared to MAPALAD.

Per information of ZAMCELCO OIC-General Manager Edgardo Ancheta, ZAMCELCO has drawn up to 52.61 MW from WMPC from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. The period from 12:00 to 1:00 PM is one of the peak hours for the power demand. Another period for peak demand is from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Congressman Lobregat said that yesterday December 14, was the second day of no brownout in Zamboanga City and we will continue monitoring the power demand and supply situation. — Jubels Santos
