3 injured in explosion outside fishing firm PDF Print E-mail

Three persons including a minor were wounded when an improvised explosive device went off at the gate of a fishing firm in Logoy Diutay, Talon-Talon last Thursday night.

A police report disclosed that the explosion took place around 11 p.m. outside the gate of YL Fishing wounding security guards Ranilo Agan y Rojo, 45, married, a native of Zamboanga Sibugay and temporarily residing in Bagong Dalan, Tugbungan, Carlito Bastian y Magallanes, 45, married and Arvin Agan, 11, son of Ranilo.

Ranilo sustained injuries in the shoulder, Carlito in the neck and left leg, and Arvin injured in the body.

All the three victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police said that a portion of the gate and a nearby electronic repair shop were damaged by the blast.

Initial investigation showed that the two guards along with the boy were insidecompany compound when a powerful explosion rocked the place.

Police added that several fragments of the explosive were recovered during a post blast investigation conducted by scene of the crime operatives and other investigators.

Investigators were looking at rift among employees as possible motive of the attack. – Dan Toribio Jr.
