Lamitan City, Basilan Vice Mayor Roderick H. Furigay said Friday he will exert more efforts to obtain more power sources for the city for a sustainable and permanent electricity .

“After the completion  and construction of the five- megawatt power plant and the delivery of electricity to the people, we will also find other sources of electricity for the city so that we will grow and more investors will come in here,” Furigay said.

He said he will also initiate a feasibility study for a solar power source because the city is out of typhoon belt in addition to  taping the river in the city for a hydroelectric source.

Mayor Rose U. Furigay also said that putting up solar power and hydroplant is advantageous for the city.

She said under her leadership  she will study it and do it for the future of the city.  The city has also enough natural resources for  this kind of project, according to the mayor.—  Allen Abastillas
