Congressman Celso Lobregat made Christmas merrier for the elderly when he visited the Home for the Elderly in Barangay Mampang for his traditional gift-giving activity.

Lobregat was entertained with a special presentation of songs and dances by selected elderly clients before he started the distribution of pack lunch and gifts to a total of 48 oldies whose ages range from 60 and above. The oldest of them all is 87 years old.

Lobregat said in his message to the gathering of the elderly as well as the center staff that  the traditional Christmas Party and gift-giving was started by his mother, Ma’am Caling who had served as the city’s lone representative in Congress and then as City Mayor.

Lobregat also said that it was during his administration as City Mayor that the city government allocated funds to improve and expand their housing facility.

The Home for the Elderly was one of the institutions that Lobregat visited as he made his rounds to spread the joy of Christmas. Also thankful to Lobregat for the visit was the staff headed by Nenita Inguillo Cartagenas of the City Social Welfare and Development Office which operates the elderly center. — Jubels Santos
