Police Regional Office-9 Director Chief Supt. Elpidio Z. De Asis Jr. said last Monday that there will be another police recruitment this year after the oath-taking last month and the current training of new 200 new recruits.

The new quota for police recruits this year are: 74 slots for regular recruitment and 124  slots for attrition recruitment. The schedule for the oath taking after the recruits passed the requirements will on December 1,2011.

De Asis said that those who want to join the police force can now submit documents at  Camp Abendan in Barangay Mercedes or can visit and inquire the different Police Provincial Offices in the region or any police station in any municipalities for the information of the applicants.

De Asis said that applicants must be college graduate and have an eligibility of the National Police Commission or a board passer of any course with a license from the Profesional Regulation Commission. They must bementally and physically fit. Must passed the neuro psychiatry  and physical examination.

Once the applicants submit the requirements, they  will take their oath on December 1. The new recruits will undergo one-year training at Philippine Public Safety College in Barangay Pasonanca. After the one-year training requirements, they will undergo another training on Special Counter Insurgency Unit Training ( SCOUT ) for 45 days. There after, they will be distributed to the different police commands in the region for Field Training Exercises in police works (FTX).

After the FTX, they will be assigned in the 9th Regional Public Safety Battalion and distributed to the companies of the battalion and serve there for two years.
After serving the battalion for two years, they can now request for downloading or assignment to the different police stations in the region or depending on the needs of availability of personnel of every  police station. — Allen Abastillas
