Mayor Beng Climaco recently received loads of goods donated by the Zamboanga Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and which will be distributed to indigents, victims of calamities or disasters and other groups in need of assistance.

The chamber led by Eddie Chua together with other directors and officers turned over the goods that included rice, bijon and sotangjon with sardines to Mayor Climaco at her office in City Hall last week.

The donation has become the chamber’s tradition every Christmas for several years now.

As this developed, Mayor Climaco thanked the Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce for their yearly donation and for their support and assistance to the government’s thrust to help improve the plight of the residents. She said it has become the Chamber’s tradition to share their blessings to the poor people every Christmas season through the local government.

The mayor is expected to distribute the goods to different groups in the coming days. — Vic Larato
