The City Health Office reported a decrease in the overall number of dengue cases in the City as the year ends.

For 2015, the City documented 2,734 cases compared to 5,604 in 2014 – a 51% decrease in cases according to City Health Officer Dr. Rodelin Agbulos.

There were also fewer number of deaths caused by dengue this year with 20 deaths compared to the 34 deaths in 2014.

The CHO has noted a steady decline of dengue cases in previous months, attributing the drop to an intensified dengue campaign and maintenance of cleanliness of surroundings in the barangays.
